Demos in Bournemouth

This summer was heralded by the government as a time of street protests in Britain. So it proved in Bournemouth too,
but as you can see, the unrest was relatively civilised and easy for the riot police in attendance to contain

To my surprise, the view from the pleasure garden to the BCP Civic Centre was troubled by a lively crowd of people,
some of whom were engaged in raucous choral chanting to a persistent and intrusive drumbeat

Upon closer inspection, a proximal crowd of pro-immigration internationalists waved Dorset and Palestine flags
and made most of the noise as they shouted that billionaires and genocidal Israelis were the real enemies

where they confronted a precautionary police presence, whose riot gear turned out to be unnecessary
